Garden Yoga

Teacher Workshop

In partnership with Foos for Thought, Orleans, Jefferson and surrounding parish teachers are invited to participate in a Continuing Professional Education credit (CPE) workshop at Longue Vue House and Gardens. Participants will engage in hands-on activities, learn about booking tours and field trips, and discuss strategies for incorporating the gardens at Longue Vue into your classroom. Watercolor Workshop: Floral Study

Explore traditional watercolor techniques using flora selected from Longue Vue’s gardens. Learn brush movement, value, light and color, layering and wet-in-wet technique with artist Annie Moran. Drawing experience recommended; painting experience is not required. $28 for members and $35 nonmembers. Paper and paints will be provided. Students are asked to bring their own brushes and a water vessel. Required brushes (may be purchased at Mo’s art supply): 1 inch flat, number 12 round, number 7 round, script, size 1.

Kinder Garden

Play, learn, and grow in this hands-on class for curious children aged 18 months to five years and their accompanying adult. Explore the world of insects through age-appropriate activities such as “insect exploration,” singing, craft making, math and science activities, digging for worms, and more in the Lucy C. Roussel Discovery Garden for children. Sunshine only! Advance registration not required. Program fee covers one child and one adult. $10 members; $12 for nonmembers; Siblings discounted; $5 each additional adult.
